Philosophy
Purpose: Trafalgar Out of School Care Society provides inclusive childcare for children ages 5 – 12 in our school age program, as well as preschool children three to five years and occasional care for children 18months to 48 months. It strives to support and nurture children’s growth and development, thus providing a valuable service to the community.
Under certain extenuating circumstances, parents/guardians of children who do not attend Trafalgar Elementary School may make a special application for enrollment. All decisions regarding the enrollment of children who do not attend Trafalgar Elementary school will be taken on a case by case basis and are granted at the discretion of the TOOSCS board of directors.
Philosophy: We recognize and respect the personal and cultural uniqueness of each child. Children deserve a safe, nurturing and supportive environment in which to explore their full potential emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually.
Children are encouraged to become self disciplined by balancing their needs with the needs of others. Positive self-esteem is fostered by the child’s awareness of the contributions they can make to their family and community.
Parents and guardians have the primary responsibility for the care and education of their children.
They are entitled to open communication and encouraged to be fully involved in the running of the Centre and in the care of their children.
